Rayonier Advanced Materials is an American chemical company specializing in cellulose-based products. Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, it produces more than 25 grades of high-purity performance fibres for products ranging from food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals to paints, filters, impact-resistant plastics, and digital display screens.

Rayonier has been a long time Lotus Notes organisation with Notes running many of their critical office applications and workflows. However, in a move to modernise their IT infrastructure, and migrate services to a Microsoft technology stack, Chad Arseneault, System Analyst at Rayonier, was put in charge of finding a solution that would help the business move these applications over to their new Microsoft environment.
As part of the process, Chad identified 25 critical Lotus Notes databases that contained important data that Rayonier needed repurposing into another newly developed application that had been built on the back of Microsoft SQL Server.
After extensive research and a complex and thorough PoC Rayonier found that the quickest and most cost-effective solution that achieved the desired business outcome was to use the CIMtrek Datapump as it met all of the project’s criteria.
After successfully migrating the original 25 Lotus Notes databases, Chad and his team are now exploring the possibility that up to a further 25 databases might also be migrated directly to Office365 and Sharepoint online.
“With so many Lotus Notes applications to migrate, having a consistent methodology of extracting the data is crucial. CIMtrek Datapump has met our needs. The tool has consistently extracted the data and attachments quickly and accurately. On the few instances that we have run into issues, the support we have received has been second to none. The CIMtrek team has gone above and beyond, even troubleshooting our own environment, to ensure we have the best experience possible. I cannot recommend CIMtrek Datapump enough.”
